What really works if you want to communicate effectively?
It’s not necessarily what you would think, according to Adam Grant, our #3 TED Talk for our management video countdown.
Grant, author of “Give and Take” and the upcoming “Originals: How Non-Conformists Move the World” is also Wharton’s top-rated professor and a New York Times writer on work and psychology. He’s known for debunking myths of success as well as challenging long-held beliefs.
Instead of focusing on strengths, Grant says, share shortcomings. Instead of having the answers, he suggests asking the right questions. Often “powerless communication” can actually be more POWERFUL if you want to be heard and have an impact.
