Dave is the Executive Director of Episcopal Community Services, Philadelphia, a Philadelphia-based human services agency serving children at risk, homeless families and homebound seniors. ECS empowers vulnerable individuals and families by providing high quality social and educational services that affirm human dignity and promote social justice.

Prior to joining ECS in May of 2013, Dave served as Chairman, President and CEO of The Modern Group Ltd, an industrial holding company headquartered in Bristol Pennsylvania. He currently serves as Chairman of Modern’s board. Modern is one of the nation’s largest material handling, construction, and power systems distributors. It is also a one hundred percent employee owned company through an ESOP.

In addition, Dave is Chairman of the Board of the Delaware Valley Floral Group of Sewell, NJ and is a director of the J J Haines Company of Baltimore. Md. and the J J Haines foundation. He is Vice Chairman of the Philadelphia World Affairs Council and a director of the Hepatitis B Foundation. He is a director of the Griffith Family Foundation and the Chairman of the McEwen Family Scholarship Trust. He is a member of the IBM midmarket advisory council.

Dave is a past trustee and secretary of The Westminster School, where he chaired the development and marketing committee, and past Senior Warden of Trinity Episcopal Church in Solebury. He is past president of the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association and a past director of the National Association of Wholesale Institute of Distribution Excellence. He has been recognized by Ernest and Young’s entrepreneur of the year program.

Dave is a frequent speaker/lecturer on technology, social media, leadership and work-life balance. He has published several articles on compensation and compensation policy, as well as leadership and management issues.
